AFA Stands in Solidarity with CWA at Verizon

Washington, DC (April 13, 2016) — After ten months of intensive negotiations to reach a fair contract with Verizon, the Communications Workers of America (CWA) is on strike as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13. Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) International President Sara Nelson said in a statement today:

“We stand in solidarity with our CWA sisters and brothers at Verizon. It’s time Verizon workers share in the billions of profits they help create. Verizon fails to acknowledge that workers should earn a living wage, while their executives make 200 times the compensation of the average Verizon employee. It is important to keep and promote good jobs in America, and that is why workers are standing together for a good contract at Verizon. "
