Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants Ratify Contract

HONOLULU (April 3, 2020) — Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today voted to ratify a new contract. The five year agreement provides immediate pay increases, establishes pay guarantees, and keeps healthcare costs in check for the over 2,100 Hawaiian Flight Attendants.

"This agreement puts us in a much better position than than where we were as we face this uncertain times," said AFA Hawaiian Leadership in a letter to members. "Hawaiian Flight Attendants’ efforts, actions, and spirit translated to average at the bargaining table and propelled us to each and agreement. Now is the time to look forward and work together to make that happen."

Hawaiian Flight Attendants have picketed in Honolulu and Los Angeles, including neighboring islands, for the past nine months to move ongoing negotiations. AFA-CWA President Sara Nelson’s flew to Honolulu in February and urged management to step up and reach a long overdue agreement. In November 2019, the Flight Attendants’ voted 99.9% to authorize a strike, marking the highest support for authorizing a strike in the history of the entire Association of Flight Attendants.
