Washington, D.C. (October 16, 2015) – In advance of the final flight of US Airways, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) lauded the decades of service of tens of thousands of flight attendants who flew under the colors of US Airways and its historical ancestors.

Washington, DC (September 11, 2015) – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) issued the following statement on the 14th year since the September 11, 2001 attacks changed the country and the Flight Attendant profession forever:

“On September 11, 2001, twenty-five Flight Attendants took action as first responders in a war we didn’t know we were fighting.  These heroes were among the first to relay the intelligence that alerted our country and our flying partners in flight 93, who in turn sacrificed their own lives to save countless others on the ground.

Washington, DC (September 9, 2015) – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), is proud to applaud the life-saving action of the crew of British Airways flight 2276. Pilots acted quickly to abort take off of the Boeing 777 due to an engine fire and Flight Attendants executed a safe evacuation at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport before the aircraft was completely consumed by flames.

Washington, DC (September 8, 2015) – United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today welcomed new executive leadership at United Airlines with the appointment of Oscar Munoz as Chief Executive Officer.

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) celebrates the 95th anniversary of the victory of the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the ratification of the 19^th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

Seventy years ago, the Airline Stewardess Association was formed and began to pave the way for what is today the world’s largest Flight Attendant union, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA).

August 20, 2015 -- United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), today filed for federal mediation under the jurisdiction of the National Mediation Board in order to bring three years of negotiations to a close and allow United to complete its merger with Continental/Continental Micronesia.
