On the Picket Line This Week with Mineworkers
November 19, 2021 – The Mineworkers rallied across the country outside of private equity offices on Thursday as part of the Warrior Met Strike in Alabama. Wall Street private equity firms like BlackRock are taking all the profits mineworkers create. The 1,100 WarriorMet Mineworkers have been on strike for 8 months for a fair contract.
AFA Flight Attendants joined them in solidarity from coast to coast; in Washington, D.C., and United AFA Councils 11 and 12 showed up in force in Newport Beach. AFA President Sara Nelson addressed the Mineworkers rally in D.C., “This is not just about our livelihoods, it’s about our lives. We’re going to fight like hell to make sure we have good lives. For us, for our children, and for the generations that follow us. One day longer, one day stronger.”
