Republicans Confirm Overwhelming Bipartisan Support For PSP Extension
WASHINGTON, DC (August 5, 2020) — Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO International President Sara Nelson, representing nearly 50,000 Flight Attendants at 19 airlines, released the following statement on a Senate Republican letter supporting an extension of the Payroll Support Program:
"Flight Attendants and other aviation workers burned up congressional phone lines over the past week to gain support for a clean extension of the Payroll Support Program. This provision is the most successful jobs program of COVID relief and maintains service to all of our communities. This provision was adopted in March with bipartisan support and has even broader support now as a proven program. We thank Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO) for leading on this letter and all Senators who signed demonstrating overwhelming bipartisan majority support. We especially want to thank Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) for his support and leadership as Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee."
