Flight Attendants Stand with Railroad Workers

WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 30, 2022) — Sara Nelson, president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA released the following statement regarding Congressional action on rail negotiations:

"Paid sick leave is a basic right and a necessity for a safe workplace. Flight Attendants stand in solidarity with America's rail workers. It is disgusting that railroad bosses who are racking up record profits are willing to put our economy at risk to deny workers the right to take a day off when they get sick. As Congress considers using its powers under the Railway Labor Act, we urge all members of the House and Senate to support amendments put forward by Rep. Peter DeFazio and Senator Bernie Sanders to provide 7 guaranteed sick days for rail workers."
