Flight Attendant Union Reaches Tentative Agreement With United Airlines

Washington, DC - United Airlines Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), successfully reached a tentative agreement with management today for 15,000 pre-merger United Flight Attendants.  The agreement was reached with oversight from the National Mediation Board (NMB) through expedited mediation with airline management.

After Union Election, Flight Attendants Vow To Protect Careers At New ExpressJet

Washington, DC – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) encourages crewmembers to unify at the new ExpressJet following the election results announced by the National Mediation Board today. The election included approximately 1000 Flight Attendants represented by AFA and approximately 1200 Flight Attendants represented by the Machinists. AFA received 666 votes while the Machinists’ union received 1065 and 26 voted for no union.

Flight Attendant Union Protects American Eagle Flight Attendant Jobs

Washington, DC – The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) this week was successful in securing contractual voluntary leave options for American Eagle Flight Attendants who wish take time away from work. This voluntary furlough program was announced after American Eagle management announced plans to shutter a portion of the operation, displacing over 100 Flight Attendants.

Washington, DC – Today, the voting process begins for nearly 2,300 Atlantic Southeast Airlines and ExpressJet Flight Attendants in an election to determine union representation.  Voting instructions were mailed by the National Mediation Board (NMB) today and Flight Attendants at the new ExpressJet are excited to unify in the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) in just three weeks when the voting results are announced on December 21, 2011. AFA already represents approximately 1,200 Flight Attendants at Atlantic Southeast Airlines.

NMB Refuses to Remedy Extreme Management Interference at Delta Air Lines

Washington, D.C. -- The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA and the Communications Workers of America condemns the decision by the National Mediation Board denying charges of management interference in the November 2010 union representation election.  It is a sad day indeed that it took the NMB one year to do nothing.
