There are 14 days until Election Day and early voting has already started in some states. We are counting on every AFA-CWA member to vote. Next year will be critical for Flight Attendants. The FAA is up for reauthorization in 2023. We need memebrs of Congress who will fight for our issues.

October 21, 2022 - On Monday, the newsroom workers of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, represented by the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh-CWA, voted to authorize a strike against the company. We stand with our CWA Union siblings on strike! Post-Gazette Guild workers deserve a contract. Management needs to get back to the table and treat journalists with respect.

October 7, 2022 - The FAA signed the final rule for our 10 hours rest this week. The rule requires 10 hours minimum, non-reducible rest for Flight Attendants between duty days. This finally makes the 2018 law a reality for all U.S. Flight Attendants.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 1, 2022 – There were more than 2.26 million new cases of breast cancer in women in 2020. Breast cancer is by far the most common cancer in women worldwide. A recent study from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health found that Flight Attendants in the U.S. have a higher prevalence of every cancer they studied, especially breast cancer, melanoma, and non-melanoma skin cancer.
