Washington, DC (November 19, 2019) – Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) President Sara Nelson released the following statement on the “Stop Sexual Assault and Harassment in Transportation Act,” (H.R. 5139) introduced today by Representative Peter DeFazio (D-OR), Ranking Member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee:

HONOLULU -- On Monday, November 11th, Hawaiian Airlines Flight Attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will begin a weeklong picket at Honolulu International Airport to mark the company’s 90th birthday and highlight their fight for a fair contract.

SEATTLE (November 4, 2019) – On Wednesday, November 6th, Horizon Air flight attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will demonstrate at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Portland International Airport (PDX) as they fight for a fair contract that includes better pay and benefits.

ATLANTA (November 1, 2019) — Today, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) announced that the union is putting its full resources behind efforts of Flight Attendants at Delta Air Lines working to organize a union with AFA.

“We have heard from thousands of Flight Attendants at Delta Air Lines asking for AFA’s help in gaining union representation,” said Sara Nelson, AFA International President. “Today, we’re excited to launch that campaign with 25,000 Delta Flight Attendants to gain a voice, respect and fairness on the job.”

WASHINGTON (October 31, 2019) — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) issued the following statement following hearings in the Senate and House this week with Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg:

CHICAGO (October 30, 2019) — The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA) will extend protests to O’Hare airport this Friday in support of the Chicago teachers should the city fail to reach an agreement that improves conditions in Chicago Schools. AFA International President Sara Nelson issued the following statement:

WASHINGTON (October 22, 2019) — In response to advocacy by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) and Members of Congress, the Federal Aviation Administration told lawmakers it agrees that passenger aircrafts should carry “opioid antagonists - naloxone - in emergency medical kits.”

WASHINGTON (October 16, 2019) – On Thursday, October 17th, AFA will testify before the U.S. Senate Commerce, Science, & Transportation's Subcommittee Hearing on "Improving Security at America’s Airports: Stakeholder Perspectives" 

Sara Nelson, the international president of the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, AFL-CIO (AFA), will testify at the hearing. She will focus on the importance of a federalized TSA, the Known Crewmember program, and more aviation security measures.

MILWAUKEE (October 11, 2019) –  On Tuesday, October 15th, United Express Carrier Air Wisconsin flight attendants, who are represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will hold a demonstration at Mitchell International Airport (MKE) as they continue their fight for a fair contract that includes better pay and benefits.

HONOLULU  (October 7, 2019) – On Wednesday, October 9th, Hawaiian Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), will demonstrate at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) to protest protracted contract negotiations with Hawaiian Airlines management.
